Ah, Dolly Parton. There’s just no one like her. She is country music’s version of Cher. I guess there are a lot of things I could say about her red carpet ensemble but why bother? She’s Dolly Parton. Of course she’s wearing a quilted- ruched-ruffly, pink, mother- of -the -bride, rhinestoned dress that accentuates her ample bosom. And platform shoes. And a wig. All is right with the world. She looks exactly the way I expected her to look and there’s nothing I could say about her that she hasn’t already said about herself.
What I will say was that I thought her performance last night was amazing. In fact, I thought it was the best of the evening. Mostly because there were no cars on fire or lame interpretive dances going on as she sang.
I must admit, however, that I’ve been singing that “Pimp” song all day. Or, at least the one line I remember from last night. Congrats to Three 6 Mafia. They wrote a really catchy tune. “It’s hard out here for a pimp, dah dah dah dah…”

This is what I’ve been singing, “It’s hard out there for a pimp.
For a pimp.
For a pimp.”
I’m crazy.
