Lily Allen, UK’s “Smile” star who’s wrapping up a U.S. tour, has just let us know that she is completely normal. After repeatedly affirming that yes, she was comfortable with her body, and no, she never wanted to change, she wrote this in her MySpace blog:
that is all i am , im on my own in america again . I used to pride myself on being strong minded and not being some stupid girl obsessed with the way I look . I felt like it didnt matter if I was a bit chubby cause , im not a model , I’m a singer . Im afraid I am not strong and have fallen victim to the evil machine .
It’s depressing when you consider that Lily compared herself to Amy Winehouse, but she did write an apology to her readers online today. What’s with two singers coming from the UK, entering the US market, and suddenly getting pitted against each other? No wonder Lily’s a bit depressed. Ah, the pressure!
