Hearing the name “Mariah Carey” is enough to give me a little nausea, but throw in the phrase “comeback” and I’m really feeling sick. The twit being called the “comeback queen” over some success recently pushes me over the top.
Now Mariah is in the news again, and there’s buzz over her plainly scoring a movie role (first one since Glitter, you see). She will be starring in Tennessee as a biracial waitress who sets out with her two brothers to find their estranged father, so he can help their littlest brother, who has leukemia. Did I mention she’s biracial? That is a very important fact I assume the studio heads want me to mention no matter what angle I take on announcing this.
“Because this character is interracial and struggles with all sorts of issues because of that, I thought she was perfect,” says producer, Lee Daniels.
Cause no one else can play a biracial girl (never mind which races, they say!) but a poor actress who looks plain ol’ white but mid-career turned straight around from acting white to portray herself as a ghetto diva.
Get out of the way between me and the bathroom!

how she LOOKS has nothing to do w/ the FACT that Mariah IS a biracial woman. And in this country that means dealin’ w/ some s*#^. As an expatriot living in TN for more than a decade, I am too familiar w/ feeling split down the middle and ppl not recognizing the frustration of that dichotomy. Whatever MC brings to this role will be fueled by personal (& probably painful) personal experience. This is a good role for her. As for the changes, the “old” MC was wholly an image manufactured by ex Tommy M, it wasn’t who she really was. Now she still produces the beautiful, gut wrenching ballads, but my girl can make u shake yo ass too! Give her the props she deserves!! Even when Rainbow flopped she still made 40 million. How many artists has beaten the Beatles’ record? There are so many artists out there who “make it ” for a yr or 2 (where’s Christina A, Ricky M, Pink, Jon B, Color Me Badd, Lauren Hill, etc) then vanish. MC’s been in the spotlite 16 yrs and counting!! Say what u will, she is the most successful popular artist of the 1990’s. If u doubt, compare to Whitney, Madonna, Aretha. C’mon, give my girl MC her props, stop hatin’.

But she is supposedly an actress playing a part. It doesn’t matter much, imho.
Her music makes me vomitous, and once upon a time, I liked her old stuff. When she became real, I disliked her trashy look AND her songs. Hmm.
Christina Aguilera? I assume she’s taking time off to enjoy being a newlywed and before then … to plan her wedding. Oh, she’s still around. She’ll be around big. (Not that she’s not trash.)
Pink sings “Stupid Girls.” ‘Nuff said.
Who’s Jon B? LOL.
Oh, why are you putting Lauryn Hill into that list? Wow, that’s just wrong. She’s crazy talented.
16 years, you say? Wow, she’s old.
She IS the most successful of the 90’s? It’s the 2000’s!
Hate hate hate. I can do what I want. But really, it’s usually not hate. Sites bash for entertainment and attention. It in turn makes us love the bashees. Paris Hilton is only famous for her trash-about-to-crash, bad-is-interesting. No one likes her. No one even likes her fame. But we want to pay attention, and we love her fame.
I love putting Mariah Carey on the blog. That’s that.

To Sarah Snarker, a person who can only think of negative things to say about talented and beautiful people,
Mariah is more successful and admired than you will ever be. We both know (and millions of other people as well) that’s the truth. Go ahead and post jealous, rude, and pathetic comments. You won’t affect her millions of fan.

Mariah had the best selling album of 2005 and won 3 grammys in March 2006…….so she is still successful and admired. She tied with Elvis for most number 1 hit singles on the Billboard (17) Only the Beatles have more. She has sold more albums than any female singer to this day in 2006. She is beautiful and is active in and donates to many charities. If you don’t like her, then don’t watch her movie. You seem to be spending a lot of time thinking and criticizing her. It’s because you’re jealous.
Pink’s song “Stupid girls” will never be a number one single. Why don’t you go buy that single and talk about her instead so you can at least post something positive. Negative complainers such as yourself deserve all the pessmism in the world because that’s what you contribute.
Never mind you though. I just want to say to those who read this that Mariah’s album “Emancipation of Mimi” is excellent and has a variety of song types include beautiful ballads, R&B, pop, dance songs, and even gospel-flavored tunes. She writes and co-writes nearly all of her songs.
I highly recommend it and being that it is the best selling album of 2005, I’m sure millions of others agree!

What a trash. she’s making a trash again.. anyways, why mariah cried at her locker room. she got 3 out of 8 nominations in grammy. Did grammy take it very personal against Mariah. why Madonna kick-off the show instead of her considering she got all the nominations. hehe
