SAG Awards Spotlight: Sheet Chic

Sheet Chic

If you’re already adept at transforming Grandma’s tablecloths into formal attire, perhaps you’d like to try bed sheets! It’s a craze that’s sweeping the nation.

Hilary Swank (left) is modeling the popular wrap and tie method which ends with an “oh so flattering” pouf bow right at the bust. It’s easy to assemble and practical if you’re running late for the office meeting, date, kid’s soccer game, SAG Awards or whatever and still want to look current and fashionable.

Laura Leighton (right) is demonstrating the more advanced “wrap, gather, pull, staple, repeat” method of assembly, which should only be left to sheet re-purposing professionals. The deadly points on the bodice of this gown were created by highly trained sheet origami specialists.

Ha ha! Hysterical! “sheet origami specialists”…excellent.

  2. HeidiGoLightly Says:

    Why thank you, Lady T!

  3. Marieke Says:

Can’t remember Hilary looking that skinny. Has she lost weight or what?

  4. HeidiGoLightly Says:

She does look very thin. Maybe she’s been depressed lately and hasn’t felt like eating. Or, maybe it’s just the sheet dress.

  5. Sarah Joelle Snarker Says:

I think those dresses are rather lovely.

I say, to each their own. I guess we just disagree on this one. Unless by “lovely” you mean “baggy, ill-fitting sheet”. Then, we feel the same =)

I suppose I should describe why I like them. They have unique detailing, even unique shaping, while still fitting the body (in my opinion). Granted, that is entirely aside from Laura’s thigh area. That is bad tailoring. But I love the tie front and ruching on Hilary’s.
