Why "The Ex List" Was Canceled

And (don’t get me wrong, good show, but) Should Have Been Canceled…

I liked “The Ex List” very much. It was sort of a very different kind of fairy tale, though, bad for young single women just like Cinderella and The Little Mermaid warped young girls’ minds. This show could have turned women from *look toward the future* to pondering their pasts, and that is very dangerous.

I’ve said this for years, and now that I have a new boyfriend I’m evermore sure it’s true, “he’s your ex for a reason”. For most women, nay people, your ex is not your soul mate. It is A-OK to move on, forever. You need no more closure than to mentally close that door in your own mind.

That being said, it was a good show. And maybe my reason here is not the reason it didn’t do well in the ratings. I’ll still miss the show. I will no longer have it tease me with thoughts like, “if this were my prophecy, I’d be screwed”. I’ll miss its youthful take on dating and sex, especially now that “Dirty Sexy Money” was also (wrongfully) canceled. And you know what else? This really messes up my drama to comedy ratio with my TV show online watching, gosh darnit!

But maybe to help the greater good, it had to go. But let’s try to bring back “DSM” and bring on new hot, sexy shows. Shows with a realistic look at young/mid adult dating – which believe it or not, was a large portion of the show – no, it wasn’t all psychics and fairy magic like its premise promised. But you may never know.

Ah well, like in dating, let’s look forward to shows to come, and current shows we’re in love with – and not dwell on the axed past.
