Zooey Deschanel is doing the one and only nude scene of her career in the upcoming biopic titled The Gospel According to Janis. Deschanel discussed when Janis wore only beads for her now-famous nude photos:
There’s a famous series of photos of Janis wearing nothing but beads and we’re recreating that for the movie. I’ve never taken off my clothes for a role before and I doubt I’ll do it again, but to really become who Janis was I have to get into the mindset that says there’s nothing to be ashamed about.
I’m sure male Zooey fans are really hoping that all the funding goes through for the film and it gets produced as quickly as possible. Me? Well, I’d like to see if Zooey does Janis justice.

I’m a Zooey fan (even if Hitchhiker was just ehh), but not the “want to see her naked” kind of fan. She doesn’t do it for me!
… Actually, she’s kind of annoying (the voice), but I still like her. Hmmm.

Yeah, I also do not want to see her naked. (We’re probably in the minority.) Zooey seems quirky; I don’t know. . . I like that.

I don’t get Zooey being picked to play Janis … now, while I hope to not only see her naked, but I hope to see close ups of her naked … still why Zooey? Janis was a very ugly woman with bad taste in clothes and a horrible voice. Now, I know all the people who were her fans back before she killed herself with drugs will say she was a great talent with an incredible voice … hey … y’all were all stoned … a cat being skinned by a thumbless part-time butcher would have sounded great to you people. Ugly, bad dresser, bad voice. NEVER wanted to see her naked …. yech!
